Yes, with https://shifton.com/shift-scheduling there are moments when automatic scheduling does not distribute shifts quite accurately, and I have encountered this too. In general, the system tries to optimize the workload, but it does not always take into account all the individual characteristics of employees. For example, if one of the employees cannot work on certain days or, conversely, wants to work more than usual, then this must be taken into account manually. When I started using shifton, I also noticed that sometimes one of the employees has too many shifts, and someone cannot get the required workload. This is due to the fact that the system is mainly focused on general parameters – such as the minimum number of shifts and working days – but does not always correctly assess which of the employees is ready to take on additional work, and who, on the contrary, needs rest. The first thing I did was carefully study the system settings. It is very important to set the correct restrictions: the number of shifts per week, working hours, as well as the ability to transfer shifts. This helps the system generate a more accurate schedule, but it still needs to be adjusted manually. For example, at the beginning of the week I always review the automatic distribution and make changes. For example, if I see that one employee is accidentally rescheduled for too many shifts, I redistribute them a little, focusing on their physical condition, and also taking into account their personal preferences.
