Jordan Berry [00:00:00]:
Welcome to Laundromat News. Today, I am your anchor, Jordan Barry, and we’ve got the news coming at you from all around the world. All things Laundromat related. The breaking story today is that Patrick, who has been hounding me for, for me to be funny on these news episodes, finally got fed up with my lack of humor and sent me some jokes to give to you today. So I’m gonna read one of them for you. Thank you, Patrick, for trying to make me funny. My wife probably also thanks you. Here’s the joke for the week right now.

Jordan Berry [00:00:39]:
Why are poker players so good at laundry? Anybody? Anybody? They know how to fold. Alright. Maybe a fitted bedsheet even. Who knows? Who knows? Poker players folding, so so good. So good. In other breaking news, equally as exciting and anticipated in a laundromat, this is in an actual news article. A man stole a woman’s underwear out of a dryer, and the owner or the woman actually who was a manager at the laundromat said, you know what? You can just keep it. That’s the news article today.

Jordan Berry [00:01:19]:
So maybe, I don’t know, a slow news week, but that one actually made the news. Raise your hand out there if you own a laundromat and nobody has ever stolen clothes out of the dryer. I don’t know. I don’t know if there’s any out there. Okay. Getting a little bit more serious. Hey. The coin operated laundry machine market, is is is set to be $29,900,000,000 by 20 30.

Jordan Berry [00:01:44]:
Coin operated laundry machine market. So there’s big money going into distribution, maybe because of the prices of laundry machines are skyrocketing. Am I right? I don’t know. But also there’s more and more demand for these things, and the sizes are increasing. All these things are contributing to this growing market. So $29,900,000,000 market by 20 30. So pretty big stuff happening right now. I wanted to point you to there’s a there’s an Australian company who, who it’s a it’s a franchise actually, who gave their, their breakdown of an investment in a laundromat.

Jordan Berry [00:02:26]:
And I thought it was interesting. So make sure you’re signed up, for the newsletter, and I’ll give you the link to this. But they go through, a whole bunch of their data. I think they presented a little bit in a rosy light, but they give you a machine analysis. They do a breakdown of the most profitable machines and how much each of their machines make. They give a profit and loss for one of their locations, for 2020 4, and the breakdown of all the income sources and the expense, sources they give you, analytics on revenue per day, buying versus building, what to look at for locations. So it’s a pretty cool little breakdown, straight out of Australia, but it might be useful for anybody who’s either owns a business, Laundromat, or who’s looking to get into one to go check that out. So check out the newsletter that’s going out also today, at lawnmattresource.com.

Jordan Berry [00:03:21]:
Go sign up for that if you’re not in there. But I’ll include the link in that in case you wanna go check it out. Okay. The next one is in Durango Laundry Love celebrates a 1,000 free loads of laundry to low and no income families. So huge shout out, out there to Durango. I’m trying to see who owns this one. North Main Laundry. I don’t think it says the owner in here, but congrats to you for reaching out to community like that.

Jordan Berry [00:03:56]:
Again, you know, just highlights how we we have the ability to do some good in this community and really just bless people. The community bring people together, in a in a actually, kinda some some breaking news here. Payrange and CCI, well, CCI licenses Payrange mobile payment technology. So there was a a settlement in the patent infringement lawsuit brought by Payrange against CCI. So CCI actually is now licensing some of that technology from Payrange. So there’s some resolution happening there. And listen, as these companies, start developing technology, utilizing new technologies, and some of these conflicts start to play out, as they arise, they’re you know, it’s only gonna be good for us, right, as as some of this stuff happens. So, you know, Pay Range talks about how they’re dedicated to protecting their patents, providing fair, reasonable access to technology.

Jordan Berry [00:05:03]:
So there’s a little bit cooperation happening. I guess what I’m trying to say and when these companies are cooperating, it it’s beneficial for us. So, listen, glad to hear that, that, dispute has been resolved, and congrats to CCI for being able to kinda move forward and go with that. And actually, Steve Marcinetti says priority. CCI has always been delivering the best possible experience to customers entering into this licensing agreement ensures that we can continue to do just that. So, huge shout out to Steve Marcinetti, who’s former podcast guest, president of Card Concepts Inc, for coming to that resolution. And, listen, doing what he thinks is best for the customer, which is us, laundromat owners. Listen, another example of laundromats doing good for the community is, some laundromats have been places to help people get signed up for health care.

Jordan Berry [00:05:57]:
And Washington post writes an article about this. I don’t need to go into detail, but just, you know, listen. Again, highlighting the community aspect of laundromats and how we have the ability to impact communities. This example is having, helping people get signed up to to get health care, taken care of. Another highlighting another, former podcast guest, Laundry Love is and and Ken Wimberly. Oh, my computer’s frozen, so I can’t actually open the tab. But Ken Wimberly with Laundry Love is launching a new franchise, Laundry Love franchise. It’s focused on being eco friendly and, you know, just creating a great atmosphere.

Jordan Berry [00:06:43]:
So, congrats to those guys. I’ll have to keep you posted. Ken, if you’re out there and you’re listening, hey, shoot me a press release, and I’d love to hear a little bit more about that. And then also, listen, just to end on a little bit of fun here. Bubbles and Basket Laundromat in Laundromat, hosted a karaoke night at the mat. Super fun. Another, you know, just a little different spin on getting the community together, doing something fun for the community. This is in Kenilworth, New Jersey.

Jordan Berry [00:07:13]:
And, listen, next karaoke night, I hope I get an invite. I’m a terrible, terrible singer, but I can get out there and, you know, try like the like the best of them. I’ll get it out there, and then you can turn the mic down and get somebody to get up there. But a lot of fun and, they had some food, some fun, and maybe some laundry going on at the same time. So listen, look for opportunities to reach out to your community. Not only does it just give you the feel goods, it also leads directly to the bottom line, as you get free press for that. People have good feelings associated with your business and, you know, word-of-mouth happens, publicity have all the stuff, right, and all the good feels. So look for ways to reach out to your community and, listen For all the news around the country regarding Laundromats, make sure you’re subscribed and tune in to Laundromat News Today.

Jordan Berry [00:08:09]:
Coming out at every single week with all the laundry news around. Well, I’ll say laundromat news. I don’t know about all the laundry news. There’s a lot of laundry that I just not that interested in, but all the laundromat news from around the world. Okay. This has gone on long enough. I’m out of here. I’ll see you next week.
